Spotlight on South Orange Village Resident, Joanne (Kent) Briscoe For this longtime Tuxedo Park resident starting a dog walking business was a true labor of love. “I’ve always loved pets, particularly dogs,” she says, “and having a business to help people with their pet needs just seemed natural to me.” So now after only 3 years Joanne continues to provide this much needed pet care service and has never lost a client because of service dissatisfaction. In fact she has discovered that there is more of a need for dependable, trustworthy pet loving assistance and information than ever before. As a result of these findings, Joanne is now planning to offer a dog newsletter as part of Pascal’s Friends™ dog walking business.
When asked “Who is Pascal?” Joanne responds, with a smile as proud as any mother, “He is my nearly 14 year old German Shepherd mix baby.” And then she explains, “I consider all of my clients’ pets, past and present, to be Pascal’s friends.” “Pascal’s Friends™ is much more than a dog walking service. We also care for cats, birds and on occasion fish, turtles, and miscellaneous other pets. We pet sit, do some training, and will transport pets to their doctor’s appointments, etc. We do whatever we can to help satisfy our client’s pet related needs. ‘We Are Four Paws Friendly.’ When asked to explain the latter statement, Joanne responds, “I love animals, and it is very important to me that each and every one of the pets in my care is treated with the same love and care that I give Pascal.” The statement ‘We are Four Paws Friendly’ is much more than a slogan, it is a statement of my personal love for animals adapted as a business principle.
Many of the various pet services being marketed do not live up to these high standards. You may see some around town walking five, six, seven or even more dogs at one time! How can they possibly give any particular dog the love, care and attention he or she truly deserves? At Pascal’s Friends™ we never care for more than one pet or an existing family of pets at the same time. And, we treat each and every one of them as if they were our own pets.
